Dear Brothers&Sisters in Christ Shalom! And greetings to you in the matchless name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. God's gifts for mankind are so awesomely amazing. As I turned to Him for the subject matter that I can share with you all, the topic TECHNOLOGY came across my mind. Today, we all live in the age of technology where the comfort of life can never be any better than at the click of the mouse, where you can order meals, book your travel needs, shop on line and endless list of things that technology has come to make our life so wonderful and meaningful. God has given man the great wealth of intelligence to make computers, both hardware and software, to enrich us with the state of the art stuff that enhances our quality of life.To many, in fact every literate person, information technology and computers has become the way of life so much so that one feels handicapped and displaced without it. I felt much disturbed temporarily when my laptop backed up on me last month for 3 weeks and you can fully understand me if you are totally dependant on this area of technology. But the devil has the same access and steals the purpose of what is intended by God to infiltrate, corrupt, destroy and pollute minds to sin and do evil unto others. The great difference lies in the saving grace of God. The Holy Spirit indwelling in us(1Cor 6:19) protects and empower us to overcome these deadly sins and we are thankful He found us to inherit eternal life. God's wisdom and guidance(Col 1:9) must be sought in all our thoughts and deeds lest we go the opposite way.. How often have we painfully heard and read from the media of Bibles being held up, confiscated, destroyed, burned etc that brought such hue and cry of abuse in curbing our constitutional right to practice our own faith. This particular instance, amongst many, brings us to understand why God's thoughts and ways are higher than ours(Is55:8). For God did not give man the know-how to design computers without reasons. Today, we need not have to succumb to such unscrupulous persecution but we have the tools to achieve our goals through information technology using thumbdrives, CD/DVD, laptops etc. We now have solutions to reach intended parties especially the unreached and spiritually hungry communities in remote areas and hinterlands. Just imagine, almost instantly, sermon notes, teachings of God's Word from great men of God, various versions of Bibles and interpretations etc via internet, facebook, twitter, google you name it, from any part of the world can be easily accessed. Isn't this an amazing revelation of God? Just imagine the tremendous impact on lives through these means. Have you ever thought of blessing missionaries and missions ministries who can be agents to teach someone who cannot afford nor own a Bible that through just one laptop, the Gospel and the truth(Jn8:32) and the Kingdom of God can be reached to unlimited masses in the remotest location beyond borders. Remain blessed and be a blessing to someone somewhere sometime. To God Be The Glory!!! Steven Toh
